5 Favourite Spring/Summer wedding Colour Palettes
A colour palette is a collection of colours that are used together in various forms throughout your wedding. Essential for a cohesive aesthetic, your colour palette can be expressed through stationary, florals, attire/accessories, linens, tableware and interiors, to name a few.

Here are 5 palettes
for spring/summer weddings

Your colour palette is worth considering at the beginning of your wedding planning journey as it will influence many of the choices you make.
Choosing too many hues can make the overall design feel disjointed. The most effective designs that I have photographed focus on 2-5 key colours, 1 of which is always neutral and timeless as an anchor. When looking for inspiration, don’t be afraid of colour. Equally if white is your thing, go for it. Tonal difference and textures will keep your palette visually exciting. As your photographer, I am your ally for all things aesthetic. I use my understanding of colour, composition, tone and balance, to capture your day perfectly.
01.
Green & White
Green & White remains one of the most popular Spring/Summer wedding colour palettes for a reason. It’s extremely versatile, fresh and easy to blend with other styling details.
For a strong and pure take on this palette, consider how to use green in other styling aspects e.g. linens or backdrops, as this will add drama and contrast to the clean whites.
Another consideration to lift the palette is to blend subtle hints of other colours. E.g. incorporating golden hues within your table accessories for a luxurious touch, or gentle pink tones to add a warm, rosy and romantic vibe.

Black & White
The purest use of white works wonderfully with black. No matter the style of your wedding – minimalistic, contemporary, classic or romantic – black and white is a go-to colour palette as it’s uncomplicated, in the most chic way.
With this most minimalist palette, lots of texture will add visual interest, especially with something like your bridal gown. Having your bridesmaids in elegant black dresses makes for a wonderful contrast – it’s chic, classy and something a little bit different for a Spring/Summer wedding.

Blush Pinks
Blush is the embodiment of romance and natural elegance. From nude, to champagne pink, to light pink and darker shades such as amaranth, this palette gives you so much scope to play with, combining both touches of light and contrasted shade. It works so beautifully for summer as it fits so well with outdoor settings, natural light and greenery.
Personally, I love multi-tone pink palettes with shimmer and pearlised textures, to build on this rosy glow to create something beautiful.

Lilacs
Since ‘Very-Peri’ was the Pantone Colour of the Year in 2021, this palette has grown and grown in popularity. Lilac symbolises the first emotions of love, which makes it so apt for a summer wedding palette.
The lilac palette is subtle, light and airy, giving a soft and romantic vibe. It works brilliantly with greens and whites and therefore outdoor settings. It also beautifully lifts wooden interiors, given its timeless nature.

Watercolours
Watercolours are a personal favourite. The colours are distinct and clean, but equally, beautifully gentle. They work stunningly against a dark contrast (I love dark suits for this), yet equally add depth to a more classic, light interior.
Multi-coloured bridesmaid dresses are such a lovely way to continue this palette, whether they be matching or different in style, adding visual and colour interest. From stationary to attire to tablescape, you can have lots of fun with a watercolour palette.
