This editorial, planned and styled by Natasha at Aster and Gold was created to inspire couples who are looking for an English Modern Country Garden wedding; a black-tie glamorous event with fashion-forward styling. I capture weddings using both digital and analogue film cameras, to create an heirloom style but I always seek to represent a couple’s own personalities in their portraits, so I was delighted to photograph this editorial for the team.

The beautiful 16th Century Glemham Hall, surrounded by 300 acres of Suffolk parkland was the perfect location. With romantic rose gardens, a sweeping staircase and Grand Hall the house feels every part the traditional English Country House.

Modern styling such as the stunning organic, English grown florals decorated the entire staircase, adding a sense of elegant, undone glamour. Louise Langdon used contemporary floral methods, fully sustainable and without the use of environmentally damaging floral foam. The bridal bouquet was generous but delicate and frothy and the arrangements at the end of the dining tables were similarly abundant but unfussy, perfectly suiting a modern country garden wedding.

I loved the use of lilacs and pinks across the details, Tabitha Kate created the most delicate stationery using modern acrylic and gold lettering. Clean, white lines, with minimalist detailing continued in the choice of tableware and in the cake decoration, an elegant 4-tier structure, displayed on clear perspex, contrasting with the historical architecture of the house.

Whilst our groom wore a classic black suit, our bride wore Jesus Peiro 243, a mermaid silhouette crepe gown with a revealing cut-out back and lace panelling, both honouring traditional wedding outfits but adding their own contemporary interpretation. Bridal accessories included gorgeous pearl drop earrings and an encrusted headband, to accentuate soft Hollywood waves hairstyling.

As so many brides are opting for multiple dresses on their wedding day, we included a super fun short sequin and feather party dress, perfect for the modern sleek cocktail bar at Glemham Hall.
