What happens when you get a lot of very talented wedding suppliers together to create some Spring wedding inspiration? A lot of fun and all kinds of pretty…
Louise Beukes, one of the founders of the gorgeous wedding blog B.LOVED styled this shoot as part of an event for wedding industry suppliers, with the theme ‘Growth’ – so apt for Spring wedding inspiration.
I particularly loved how the colours of bright green, pink and yellow worked so beautifully together to create a cheerful, zingy feel whilst still being really pretty – an interesting twist for some couples who are looking for something a bit brighter than muted pastels.
Emma Soulsby at Ladybird Flowers created stunning floral features to adorn the fireplace from Wedhead using penstemons, chrysanthemums and rununculas, leaving some flowers strewn loosely around the edges to give a softness but also to complement fairy lights woven around the edge of the arrangement for a bit of extra sparkle. The arrangements had a gorgeous scent – this is where photography lets us down I’m afraid, I wish I could have captured it! It’s a reminder however, to always chat to your florist about including scent in your arrangements – it gives such a fantastic lift to a room and if you are planning a Spring wedding, is a fabulous way of celebrating the season.
Claire Owen Cakes provided us with the sweetest treats for our Spring wedding inspiration shoot – mini rose & pistachio bites with rosewater buttercream, as well as gin & lime bites with coconut buttercream. I loved the Spring zesty twist of these, so much more interesting than a conventional wedding cake flavour. If you are planning a Spring wedding, I really recommend trying one of these flavours from Claire, as well as her beautiful iced lemon biscuits, or her zesty lemon cake which she decorated for us with blush pink and gold geometric icing. Of course I had to sample them all and they were all my favourites!
Our Spring wedding inspiration shoot also included a twist on the conventional champagne. By styling it with edible flowers, Louise carried the theme and colours through so subtly. Edible flowers can also be floated on top of a larger drinks container – I love the addition of primroses to this virgin elderflower cocktail, with just the smallest touches making every part of the details pretty.
The B.Loved Hive hosted this shoot and networking event at their own studio, a lovely light white space which was the perfect backdrop to the stunning colour palette for a Spring wedding inspiration. The pretty furniture from the huge selection available to hire from Wedhead matched the theme perfectly. Wedhead hire all kinds of furniture and props for events and weddings – perfect for creating an ambience whatever your venue or theme.
The beautiful blush silk runner seen with the tasty cakes came from Kate Cullen. Kate makes hand dyed silk ribbons and table linens all kind of gorgeous colours, and her trailing ribbons add the perfect finishing touch to any wedding bouquet.
All of the stationery for our shoot was designed by Sugar and Spice Designs. Jacquie offers both customisable and fully bespoke services for all wedding stationery and is wonderful at creating a design to really lift your theme and incorporate it seamlessly into every part of your day – from letterpress printing to luxurious foil stamping – perfect for a Spring wedding zing!
If you are planning a Spring wedding I’d love to hear all about your ideas for making a beautiful and memorable day.
